An old Shaolin saying: "I fear not the man who has practiced 10,000 kicks once, but I fear the man who has practiced one kick 10,000 times"

Motivational Tip Number One
If you know someone who is great at something you have a weakness with, ask them how they do it. Pick their brains and practice until you perfect it!  Read books and watch videos of successful people.  Take a look at motivational sites to get inspired.

Motivational Tip Number Two
Think about what really motivates you. What do you like about performing?  Remember that thought, make it visual or put it into words and place beside your mirror so you can see it every morning.  Be confident; believe that you can achieve your goal.

Motivational Tip Number Three
Reward successes.  For example, set yourself certain goals and reward yourself when you achieve them.  Purchase a couple massage vouchers and use them when you have met your target.

Motivational Tip Number Four
Be realistic about what you can achieve. Try not to get upset if you can't be 100% all the time.  Be realistic, if you got one particular trick wrong work on improving your technique and keep everything in proportion.  A mistake on one thing does not mean you are not bad at everything.  Focus on trying to get up and be the maximum you can be.  Knowing you gave it your best... is the 'best' you can do.

Motivational Tip Number Five
Team up with people who motivate, inspire and may be aiming for the same goals as you are.  If one of you is having a bad day, the other can encourage you and get you motivated again.  Try not rely on others to keep you motivated though.  Make a plan together and hold each person accountable by encouraging and supporting them.

Motivational Tip Number Six
You can't achieve everything at once. Learn to be patient - break tasks down into small chunks and tackle them like that. Get stuck in! You'll often find that whatever you've been putting off isn't as bad as you thought, and doesn't take that long.  Aim to finish things you start, being selective about what you start in the first place.

Motivational Tip Number Seven
Make sure you set goals and targets for yourself. It might be something long term like performing in theatre to a large audience, or something smaller such as a short street performance.  Whatever it is make sure your goals are Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Realistic and Timely.  Knowing what direction you want to take your life in and why, will go a long ways towards keeping you motivated over the long haul.

Motivational Tip Number Eight
Sometimes it's just not the right time to work. Take some time out to go outside, read a book, play a musical instrument - anything as long as it's stimulating and not bringing you down!

Motivational Tip Number Nine
Track the progress you have made towards your goals. Knowing where you started, where you are now, and how close you are to meeting your goals may be all the motivation you need not to give up. Day planners, calendars, agenda books are some suggested ways to keep track of the goals you have set and the progress you have made on them.  Analyse your high points and your down falls.  Concentrate on what you did right and use those techniques again.

Motivational Tip Number Ten
Training your brain to think positively.  It all begins with you.  All of the motivational material in the world, no matter how carefully constructed or expensive as it may be will do any good if your brain negates all of the positive information found in such material.

You have to make up your mind that you will not let anything negative come in between you and reaching for what you want in life.

"Therefore, do not limit yourself to a single system or style of training. There isn't a single right way, and never will be, regardless of what others may tell you. The only style of training that you should limit yourself to, is a style or mindset that has no limitations. " ~ Ross Enamait

Have a think about what motivates you and the reasons behind your drive, determination and why you do the things you do.  If you are already in show business what highlights have you had... I would love for you to share them with us.
